CORN'S Eunos Roadster

I hadn’t had my Starlet tuned at 155 bhp for very long when I came across this very special one of a kind Eunos Roadster still in Japan. It was exactly what I was looking for (I was thinking about making the switch over to RWD without getting a massive barge like a 200sx or Skyline).

The roadster Came from Japan with the following modifications and was sourced by DNA Cars:

13″ SSR Mk1 wheels
Juberide Overfenders
TEIN coilovers
6 point roll cage
Braided brake hoses

Twin Weber 45 Carbs
4-1 Manifold
Full Stainless Steel Exhaust
Strut brace
Blue HT leads

Carpet Stripped
Omori Oil Pressure Gauge
Omori Oil Temp Gauge
Omori Water Temp Gauge
Volt meter
Bucket Seat

I had the carbs tuned the day after collecting her from the importer as they were very badly out of synch and the car did not run right at all. I was recommended Airey Tuning in Cheriton by a friend so booked her in.
Tom Airey did a fantastic job – What that guy doesn’t know about carbs and Webers probably isn’t worth knowing! He identified that a couple of the spark plugs were busted by the bad fuel mix and that the air jets were all wrong for the tune. After a couple hours fine tuning, Tom squeezed 130 BHP out of the little roadster which I was delighted with – you could certainly feel the extra grunt she had over a standard Eunos.

This was to be my second Japanese car and I think it’s probably better if I let the pictures do the talking!
